From time to time, we like to take a break from our fast and usually tight schedules. Different people love to do different things to relax. Sometimes, you may not want to spend too much just to have fun. Below we look at the things to do in Oklahoma City, whether you are a local, have visited the city or even plan to:

1. Get closer to nature

a) Route 66

If you are local, there are some memories that this stretch will bring back to your mind. Nostalgia is only an understatement. This stretch is also a resource for tourists. You can stop by the Blue Whale Park and Totem Pole Park. These two parks are ideal for a picnic and great selfie moments. Yes, even a local would love this.

b) Lake Murray State Park

This is the oldest and largest state park in the city. It surrounds the lake that it is named after. There is a highway that allows you to get to all the camp areas – beaches and even campgrounds for a full Lake Murray experience. To experience panoramic views of the lake and park, visit the nearby Tucker Tower.

2. Learn some history

a) The Muskogee War Memorial Park

This park is indeed a preserve of history. Here, you meet the USS Batfish. It not only looks like it is home, but it is indeed home. The Batfish is a submarine that was used during World War II. Her legend where it sank three enemy submarines lives on. 11 enemy vessels in total faced her wrath during her tenure as the queen of the sea.

b) The Conoco Museum

This museum is a bit more modern, having been completed in 2007. However, it carries with it a history of hard work and sheer determination. Here, you get to learn how the little efforts of a distributor of kerosene grew to what has come to be known as the city’s oil boom days.

3. Nothing is better than games

If you enjoy watching games, then Oklahoma is not short of some that you can enjoy. You can attend a baseball game (the Oklahoma City Dodgers are famous here, we may as well advise you to become a fan even before you meet them), play some golf – Top Golf is the ideal place (the best point is that you need not be a golfer) or try flyboarding.

4. What about trying out some new restaurants or food?

You can go for some lovely dinner and cocktail at the Devon Tower (49th floor). Yes, you can already imagine how the view is from here. Amish country brings to you some homemade butter, cheese and fudge. It can never get better than this.  A lot of the restaurants in the area use an OKC SEO firm to help people find them, especially tourists that may not be familiar with the area.

5. We rarely remember to be charitable

Oklahoma people are charitable. There are various programs where you can donate a coat to keep the people in need warm especially during winter.

6. Booze

Save the best for last? That is if you love some booze. In Oklahoma, you can visit a winery and do some tasting. You can take a tour of the vineyard too. It may make you opt for wine made and manufactured from this great city.

Summing it all up

The above list of things to do in Oklahoma City is not by any means exhaustive. There is so much more that you can do. Sometimes the best way to find out is to visit the place. You never know if you never go.
